Rewards System

Here at Hilltop, we use the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS) rewards system. When students follow classroom rules and expectations, they will recieve fisher buck through our online rewards system. Each week they can spend their earnings at the Hilltop shop. There are all kinds of prizes such as fidgets, notebooks, pens/pencils, snacks, lunch with the principal, free time pass, free admission to school activities, and so much more! The goal is that students will be guided by a positive influence. Any staff member in the school can give out fisher bucks and students will be able to check their balance at the end of every day on their chromebooks. We have a Hilltop rocks day each month. If students have completed all of their work and have not recieved any major referals then they get to choose an activity from the list of options. Activities include mountain biking, just dance, arts and crafts, archery (with a certified archery teacher), cooking, and so much more.

Grading and Homework

Grading

  • Grades are based on academics skills, participation, attendance, and complete assignments
  • Students can not end the class with an incomplete
    • We use an ICU program at Hilltop- No student left behind
    • ICU means that is students have missing assignments or are not meeting standards, they will have the time available to them to complete each assignment to grade standard
    • ICU happens during lunch times and after school
    • Any missing or incomplete assignments results in, no participation in Hilltop rocks days or after school activities
  • Students will recieve a rubric for all major assignments
  • Grades will be given at the end of each quarter

Homework

  • Homework is due every Friday
  • Homework is sent home in Monday folders each week
  • If students do not finish work in class, it will become homework and due the following day
  • Each day that homework is late, students will lose 10% of the grade and will be placed on ICU until it is completed
